PC no Talo

Automatic hardware analysis and upgrade recommendations, comparing retail prices.

PC no Talo — digital product from scratch: api, frontend and database for My own product

Context

My own product, for a specific audience: the gamer whose PC is stuttering, who has a tight budget and does not know which part to replace first. Today that question gets answered on forums, with conflicting opinions and nobody looking at prices.

Challenge

The right answer depends on two variables that keep moving. The first is the hardware the person already has: replacing the graphics card when they are CPU-bound is throwing money away. The second is today's retail price, which swings enough to turn last week's best recommendation into this week's worst.

Solution

I automated the diagnosis instead of asking the user to know what they own. The system reads the configuration and identifies where the real bottleneck is. On top of that sits the pricing layer, comparing retailers, so the recommendation comes out on value for money rather than on the theoretically ideal part.

The result is an actionable answer — "replace this, for this reason, at roughly this price" — instead of one more parts list for the user to decide on alone all over again.
